Christmas At The Royal Palaces

And YOU are invited!

A Winter Wonderland at Hampton Court Palace

Get your skates on…the Hampton Court Palace ice rink returns!
2nd December - 14th January

Christmas at Hampton Court Palace would not be complete without its annual outdoor winter ice rink! Regulars to the West Front attraction will no doubt be dusting off their blades in excited anticipation of this enormously popular event in the festive calendar! The famous Tudor façade of the palace provides a magical backdrop for six weeks of graceful gliding (or frustrated falling!)

Family Christmas Concerts, 15th - 17th December
What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than with a traditional carol concert for all the family? The evening begins with mulled wine and minced pies by a roaring fire in the famous Tudor Kitchens, then on to King Henry VIII's Great Hall for a feast of festive music and singing. In association with Kingston University.

Prices vary according to performances, visit www.hrp.org.uk for further details.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, 18th- 23rd, 27th-30th December (Matinees at 5pm on Sat 23rd and 30th)

Evening performances begin at 8pm and Saturday matinees at 5pm. Ticketed event. Visit www.hrp.org.uk for more information.

Celebrate Christmas with Henry VIII at Hampton Court Palace! Plus, tantalising Tudor feasts sponsored by UKTV History, 27th December - 1st January

In the Tudor Kitchens the palace's food historians will be preparing a
Christmas feast for King Henry and his hungry courtiers. What foods
tickled their taste buds? What sights rumbled a Tudor tummy?!

All will be revealed this Christmas in the newly re-presented Tudor Kitchens at Hampton Court Palace, the only remaining kitchens of their kind in Europe. Sponsored by UKTV History, our food archaeologists will
experiment in the kitchens with Tudor recipes, ingredients, utensils
and traditional cooking methods, preparing a typical Christmas meal.

Then, in the Tudor Apartments experience the Christmas of the lavish King Henry VIII and his guests - see for yourself what went on inside the great Tudor palace during this great religious festival. Look out for entertainers in the palace's Tudor Apartments, and see what foods, fun and entertainment Henry and his courtiers enjoyed during the festive holiday. Event included in normal ticket price.
