The costs for flying lessons start from around £90 for 30 minutes.

If you have Biggles type ambitions and dream of jumping into a twin engine plane, being shown the controls and entrusted to take-off and head for the sky, all in your first lesson … wakey - wakey!

Be mindful that your qualified instructor will only allow you to take total control of the aeroplane for as long as he deems it safe to do so.

You certainly won't taxi or take off by yourself and you will only be handed over the controls once you are safely in the air.

Trial Flying Lesson (30 mins) - £115

Pre flight safety talks are paramount and your lesson begins with a briefing with your instructor. You will learn what knob does what and what dials mean what as well as the effects of an aircraft's controls.

When the instructor is confident that you fully understand it will be time to walk out to the aircraft and you will be taken on a 'walk round' to see the main control surfaces of the aircraft.

Now it is time to reach for the skies and your instructor will take initial control during take-off and he will demonstrate some basic manoeuvres. Finally it's your turn and you can feel the aircraft respond to your lightest touch and experience for yourself the sheer exhilaration of flying.

With this type of flying lesson your tuition is on a one to one basis.
